Happy Thanksgiving!

I know I’m a little late but I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones. I absolutely love Thanksgiving not just because of all of the yummy food or shopping deals, but because it is a time we can truly reflect and be thankful for everything in our lives. This thanksgiving I was especially thankful for my forever loving and supportive family & friends, good health and our sweet little bundle of joy who will be blessing the world with his/her utter sweetness in just a little over 3 months! This thanksgiving we spent time with our Charleston family in Rockville, SC and enjoyed a beautiful meal prepared by many giving hands. We did have a bit of a dilemma when the oven broke just before the last minute “warming up” of dishes and heating the rolls. Stiles took over and “grilled” the rolls on the grill, and only charred half of them, haha! Even though I should be use to splitting time with families I really did miss my family who ate like kings in Virginia, and our Savannah family who had thanksgiving in the mountains! Our hearts and thoughts were with both families that day!  A special thank you to Caitlan and Haley who enjoyed spending me pictures of all of my favorite dishes that they were indulging on… BRATS (haha).
Perhaps I lost my mind but I decided to venture out on Black Friday to try and catch some big sales, too bad many of the sales ended before my lazy tail was even out of bed! I did manage to snag a few Christmas gifts and some of my favorite onzies from Baby Gap for the little sugar! Here is a 24 week picture of how the little one is really growing!!!
Off to pick up Baby Bee's Nursery Furniture! THANK YOU MOM, DAD & MOM MOM! 24 weeks and 3 days!

Sunday evening.... 24 weeks and 4 days!
Saturday shaped up to be quite a heartbreaker….. my Clemson Tigers were dominated by the USC gamecocks which made my blood literally boil. I do have some anxiety that the words my poor child witnessed may scar him/her for life, haha! My temper may or may not have gotten the best of me, especially considering I watched the game with the most obnoxious gamecock fans (aren’t they all?) who enjoyed screaming and carrying on the entire game! I pray this kiddo remains a Clemson fan, I don’t think I could stomach being related to a GameCock fan J Let the brainwashing begin!!!!!

Happy Sunday to all of you, thank you for checking in on us. Sending special prayers and blessings to my mom’s dear friend Sharon who lost the love of her life this morning. We never know how long we have on this earth so soak up every minute of your day and give those loved ones and extra squeeze. Share your love with all of those who truly mean the world to you, leave nothing unsaid……
Big Hugs from South Carolina!

Welcome to the New Beehive!!!!

Happy Saturday blog buddies! Big news to share!!! We FINALLY closed on our new home and we couldn’t be happier about it! For those of you who have kept up with our house hunting adventures you can understand our relief and excitement to be finished! We had a few heartbreaks, breakups, close calls and mishaps along our journey to find the perfect home. We are so happy to be staying on Daniel Island; we absolutely LOVE our island town and could not imagine leaving! The funny part about this new home is the name of the street…haha. I’m already laughing because a few of you already know how much I HATE the street name and I even went so far to say “I WILL NEVER LIVE ON THAT STREET”….. Gee, how funny things work out the way they do.
Here is a little clue… compliments of our sweet realtor Terry, who found it particularly entertaining how resistant I was against the street…..

Elfe Street... pronouced like "ELF"..... yes I am officially a little person living on Elfe Street haha. My mom enjoys telling me that it will be the "Happiest Street on Christmas"... good god! Anyways, it may sound silly but i guess my Middle School years of being teased for being short have resurfaced hahaha!
Here is the NEW BEEHIVE!!!

oh yeahhhhh, thats MY HOUSE!!!!!!

aww its even GREEN for Christmas, haha!

On a serious note, we are so happy to have a place to bring our little bundle of joy home to.We even got a call last week that the Nursery Furniture is in, Yay! We are not moving in right away, we have a few remodeling projects to complete before. I will include some "before" and "after" shots soon. Thank you for checking in on us, all of you mean the world to us!

P.S. The Bump is growing at record speeds now.... next weeks picture should be entertaining.

Love,
Big Mama

Holy Bump!

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely LOVE a good surprise. Hence the reason why baby bee is still a mystery in the gender department and an “unknown” on the pedestrian records! That sounds bad right… unknown? Why not say “baby bee” ? Unknown sounds like I’m waiting to even find out if its human, possibly a cat or horse… doctors need to rethink the “unknown” comment! Ok back to my love affair with surprises!!!  Yes I love them, but there are some surprises I am not a huge fan of and I’ll share why. Pregnancy has provided me with quite a few “surprises” lately, one of my least favorite ones being the battle I am having with my zippers!! Nothing blows my mind more than an ease free zip up at 7am followed by a I can’t breathe unbutton these god awful things by 10am! Come on baby bee, push it out or keep it in! Whoever told me about the hair tie trick is a genius, thank you so much for that advice! So back to more pregnancy surprises!!! The last few weeks I have been touring local child care facilities and realized the following things. 1) apparently the minute you get married if you are even considering having children at any point in your life, you need to add your not even conceived child to at least 3 waiting lists  2) childcare costs are equivalent  to owning a second home 3) I especially love when the director talks about the safety of the building then escorts you to her unlocked car to view a car seat  leaving a door stopper in the door (UNSECURED) so she can get back in….. With all of that fun behind us, we are number 53 on one list, behind about 15 mom’s who are yet to even become pregnant and our child may get into the other facility by time he/she is 6… promising huh? I’m debating if I should go ahead and add Baby 2, and Baby Bee 3 to the lists now??? Hahaha! If I had a camera to capture the look on the directors faces when I tell them I am five months pregnant and just starting to look at places I think I could win some sort of shock contest. Apparently I missed the enrollment memo back in 2008 when I got married and we discussed wanting kids in our marriage classes haha. I’m sorry, this probably isn’t really something to laugh considering I’m potentially going to have to hide my baby under my cubicle at work since clearly #53 sounds about as realistic as me having an ‘natural childbirth” J I’m so glad I have a sense of humor about all of this haha! Ok I’m done with the child care train… onto my belly dreams!

So for the past few weeks I’ve had several conversations with pregnant ladies who loved telling me how one day I will just wake up with a big belly. I’m not gonna lie, I thought it was total BS. Well apparently subconsciously I was wondering if there was any truth to these stories bc I have had several dreams where I woke up with a large watermelon size stomach. SO for the past two weeks as I slowly emerge from yet another horrible and uncomfortable nights sleep I place my hands on my belly in somewhat of a panic to see how big things have gotten. I then feel my way to the bathroom, for those who know me well know im basically BLIND as a BAT without contacts, to check out the goods from the side. Well two mornings ago I thought the bump felt a little steeper than normal so I stumbled to the bathroom and put on my glasses (which are totally outdated and barely provide any additional help vision wise) and I nearly fainted! I frantically put in my contacts for some proper verification and HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I alerted Stiles that operation Baby Bump was now in full force. So I guess I now believe what all those ladies were telling me about the overnight bump growth. Holy Bump…..

Over halfway! 21 weeks down!!!!!

~alisa
What an exciting week it’s been in the Bee household! We are officially a week over the halfway mark and Baby Bee received a healthy report after our anatomy ultrasound this week!!! Besides being such a wiggle worm the entire time, the ultrasound tech & doctor were able to confirm that Baby Bee is developing wonderfully! Stiles and I are feeling beyond blessed and continue to fall more in love with our little one by the minute! Although my poor right side would love a break from the constant kicking of those sweet little feet J
crossed little feet!

our sweet little one who is about the size of a banana!

My new favorite part of the day is when Stiles and I lay in bed and just watch my stomach dance! Baby Bee is so active especially when its bedtime....he/she is already misbehaving haha! I'm sure some of you are wondering if we caved and found out at the anatomy ultrasound and i am pleased to say WE DID NOT FIND OUT! Baby Bee is still a mystery! Only about 4 more months until we all find out if Baby Bee is a little boy or little girl.... right now my guess is on a boy but I use to say girl so who knows! Well I guess I'll introduce my belly pictures.
Here is my 21 week picture!

Hello Belly!

Thankfully I am still able to hide the belly under baggy shirts but as you can see this wont last much longer!!! I am starting to embrace the baby bump, but i have to admit it is so weird feeling this little person in there!

In addition to pregnancy adventures, we also managed to have some fun these past few weeks and enjoyed a small private concert for charity whichfeatured DARIUS, Edwin McCain, Pat Green, REM, and more! It was unreal being that close and literally right in our backyard! One of the many things we LOVE about Daniel Island!

Look who Stiles ran into on the golf course... DARIUS!!!!!

Race for the Cure was a few weeks ago and my Mom and sister Caitlan came to join us in the race! It meant even more because we were all participating in memory of our dear family friend Janet who we lost to these horrible disease. We even had a flag displayed on the island in her honor.

All in all life is pretty wonderful right now. I pinch myself so often because I am so blessed to have amazing family and friends to make each day so amazing. Pregnancy has added so much joy to our lives and we are sooooooooo excited to be expanding our family! Thank you to all of you for always checking in on us! We love and miss all of you!

HUGE HUGS FROM SC!
