Hello 18 Weeks!!

Happy Thursday everyone and HAPPY 18 WEEKS BABY BEE! I was informed today in my weekly pregnancy update that you are now the size of a sweet potato, how funny! I’m beginning to feel some pressure and shifting going on in there young baby bee J I apologize with the tight “middle seat in coach” like accommodations in there, don’t worry you will be stretching out soon enough J My belly is starting to take off on its expansion rampage and the buttons on my pants are starting to sweat!!! Thank you to my pregnant friends who told me about the hair tie trick, I have a feeling I will be utilizing this VERYYYYYY soon! I look at the belly band I bought each morning and I don’t think I’m there yet, mentally! Well here are the 18 week bloated end of the day pictures for your amusement. Hold on everyone, this belly has a mind of its own! Have a great Friday!!!!

Heaven…. also known as the second trimester =)

Hi everyone, my apologizes for being MIA once again, I guess I’m taking advantage of this new burst of life I’m experiencing after 14 weeks in first trimester prison! I could have blogged everyday while I sat on my couch which felt like a desert island with little or no sign of civilianization or hope in sight, but this blog would have turned into a modernized version of Groundhog Day and I am no Bill Murray! Well, the baby officially released me from my Tom Hanks Castaway self and I am just LOVING LIFE again! I am especially enjoying shocking the heck out my taste buds with food other than bagels, English muffins and toast. I’m wondering if the Baby is going through serious carbohydrate withdrawals?!
I think the best gift of all has been my energy level!!! Finally I feel like a 28 year old rather than an 80+ old lady who struggles to reach the remote (which I totally understand now). My personal trainer, aka Maximo Bee, has been killing me in the workout department. He clearly practices interval training because one minute we’re walking the next minute we’re running, then sprinting, then walking…… I’m starting to understand the triggers and they all involve squirrels and birds. Although I desperately miss my long runs I am enjoying my short jogs with the fur ball. I do plan to sign up for some sort of race early next summer once Baby Bee has made his/her debut!
We had our second “listen to the heart beat visit” last week and everything was great! Baby Bee is VERY active and loved twisting and turning to get away from the heart Doppler. Our doctor was laughing and said how active of a baby he/she is. Our next big appointment is Nov 1st which will be my 21 week mark where they measure and look at the entire anatomy of baby bee. For those of you who I have not told, we are NOT FINDING OUT what Baby Bee is….we’ve decided to embrace one of the only true surprises left in life J Stay tuned for a picture of my 18 week belly this week J (i cant believe im turning 18 weeks this week!)
Thank you everyone for checking in on us and keeping sweet baby bee in your prayers! We love and miss all of you!
Hugs from South Carolina J

And Baby makes THREE..... well FOUR including MAXEY!

Hola amigos! No you are not hallucinating, I am actually blogging again! No I did not fall off a cliff or lose my internet for the past 6 months I have flat out been too dang lazy to update this blog! As many of you know Max announced to the world that he is going to be a BIG BROTHER in March and all of us couldn’t be happier!!!

I have to say this whole pregnancy thing is not nearly as glamorous as I had envisioned! I will spare MOST of the details but I will say that I was one of the lucky ones to be sicker than a dog for my entire first trimester! Baby bee kicked my tail from week 5 to week 13- HOLY BABY! As weird as this may sound those 8ish weeks are literally a blur, probably because my life consisted of crawling to work half dead, making a permanent imprint in our couch and knowing more about the toilets in our house than I ever cared to! I am so happy to announce I am not nearly as serious with our thrones these days, thank you baby bee you are one tough cookie! So one thing I do remember during my hurl-a-thon was being overly entertained by my weekly pregnancy updates, particularly how they measure the little babe in food. We began the journey with a little poppy seed and we are now loving on a sweet little peach! I think the only fruit that sort of freaked me out was when I was leisurely reading an update and they compared the baby to a grape, meanwhile I am mid chew on a grape, I don’t know why but I spit it out! So I am in mid week of my 15 week adventure and I have entered into the “you don’t look pregnant but you do look a little fat” stage and I’m not so sure I’m liking it! Thankfully my pants, knock on wood, are still fitting but I am all ready with my handy dandy belly band! I guess I always pictured myself having a cute little bump right away but that is definitely NOT the case. My tummy is still straight down flat but it looks like I have inhaled a few air tanks. I have officially stopped running which makes me sick even typing that. My doctor, unlike any other doctor in the world, preferred I didn’t run. I decided I would run for a few weeks but once the hurl-a-days rolled in my running dreams were flushed down the toilet. Now that I’m starting to feel better and I am actually walking around during the day (this is a big step) I see all these runners and I can’t help but secretly hate them! I miss my long runs jamming out to my latest mix daydreaming about winning a race. Now I walk at what feels like a negative speed just trying to keep some tonnage in my legs who were basically elevated on a couch for 2 months! I think the first day I actually stepped out into the sun my eyes went into a state of shock, almost like I’ve lived underground since July! Well, I will spare everyone the dirty details of trimester 1 but I will say I am on the mends I am now ready to LOVE being pregnant! Here is my 13 week belly picture. I will try and post another one this week for 16 weeks.
Have a great Sunday my loves!!!

MIA!

Wow, it feels like forever since I've posted on here, my apologizes! Life seems to be busier than I could have ever imagined! I miss the days when life was slow and seemed to drag on.... now things seem to happen much too quickley. I wish i had a pause button so I could take a minute to just breathe in the simple wonderful things that make each day such a blessing. I worry that sometimes we are in constant fast forward mode that we miss little moments! I am going to really try to hit the "pause" button every now and then to be sure I soak up a little piece of wonderful each day! I challenge you to do the same. Try and take 3-5 minutes each day to just reflect on your day and the little moments and conversations that make life beautiful! It sounds so easy but believe me there are many days I don't get to enjoy much and that's not good!

The month of March has been so fun! We have had lots of visitors, travels and long days at the office :) We just celebrated an early 30th birthday for the old man of the house, haha! My family and his all came into town for the get together which was amazing! We actually began the day with a 5k race on Daniel Island and my Dad ran with us! Watching him sprint to the finish line brought tears to my eyes because I am just so proud of how far he's come since his heart attack in 2009. It was crazy the emotions that I felt on Saturday watching my Dad....but I was mostly filled with happiness that I was able to share such a fun experience with him! I was also so happy to have my incredible mother there, who was basically our own paparazzi! haha! She is loving photography right now and is even in a class to perfect her new talent! She enjoyed taking lots of pictures around the island! It made me really happy to see her so excited and passionate about her new hobby!!

I would love to write more but we just got home from Sushi and are so exhausted from our very busy Monday! We are off to the Bahamas on Thursday to celebrate Stiles first State Farm qualifier trip! I am so proud of him for all of his hard work and very deserving success! We will also be toasting his official 30th birthday which will be so much fun!

I hope everyone is having a great week! Remember, hit that pause button tomorrow i think you will enjoy it more than you think!

Hugs from Alisa, Stiles and Max :)

Guess who FLU in for a visit to the Beehive?!?!

Man down, man down! I am sad to report that Stiles is quarantined in our guestbook with a rotten case of the FLU! Thank goodness we have Nurse Max on duty 24 hours a day attending to his every need. Too bad his work ethic is anything but diligent…
Sleeping on the job and with the patient! I think this is grounds for termination!

So much for the NO GOING UPSTAIRS rule! All house rules will resume once the Flu finally packs up and moves on outta the hive! A hard lesson learned…. Always always get your flu shot!

Sincerely,
take your germs and fevers and get the flu outta here! haha!
